BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Attendees:   Dan Meade, Sharon Walker, Richard Grieves, Howard Koester, Dave Armitage and Christine Whitehurst.   Guests, 11 SBCA members and staff.

 

Meeting called to order at 9:00 AM by President Dan Meade

 

 Determination of quorum.

 

MSP to approve July 3, 2009 minutes with correction: that Maintenance Reserve should read $180,448.06. (All ayes)

 

MSP to appoint the following members to the offices of the Board:

President             Dan Meade

Vice-president     Sharon Walker

Secretary              Chris Whitehurst

Treasurer             Chris Whitehurst

And to appoint Committee members:

ARC                          Sharon Walker, Steve Shanklin

Long Range Planning     Mike Morgan, Chris Whitehurst, Dave Armitage

Drainage                  Tom McCay

Iron Mountain          Dan Meade

Financial report

Chris Whitehurst reported the financial highlights for June, showing the Total Current Assets for the month to be $355,790.84, Total Assets to be $568,576.24 with an increase of $39,289.12 over last year’s Total Assets. The Income Statement for Fiscal Year 2009 showed total revenues of $400,351.28 and Total Operating Expenses of $374,959.99 and a Net Operating Surplus of $25,391.29. The Maintenance reserve is $180,777.20 and the Renovation Fund is $117,372.85.
 

MSP to approve the financial report. (All ayes)

 

MSP to establish a SEPA committee to be chaired by Richard Grieves to determine actions the SBCA Board needs to take in representing the community with regard to air and sound issues. (All ayes)

New Business

 

MSP to form a communication committee to investigate ways and means to inform the public in both print and electronic formats. (All ayes)
