New Business: Met with Barbara Nightingale, new Port Ludlow planner, and talked about drainage & permit issues. We agreed that all applications coming into Jefferson County for building within the South Bay footprint (except applications from the Declarant) will be shared with the South Bay ARC for our review. We spoke about starting a drainage district for South Bay or combining with the one from North Bay and will be having future meetings with the County on this matter.
The Committee talked about changes to design standards to define view, document view, view maintenance , who pays, & appeals section. The ARC is not sure of we want to change Design Standards or adopt a policy to have a standard rule for all permits The standard rule would be this: The person asking for the work to be done on someone else’s property will pay for the work done. Except when noted on a permit letter, if a tree planted by a homeowner grows into a view of any other homeowner, the member planting the tree would pay for the maintenance requested by the member who’s view has been obscured. We will discuss this again at the next meeting.
