The Bay Club Facility

The Bay Club offers a 200-seat auditorium with stage, allowing space for banquets, dances and performances as well as other community functions.  Additionally, an indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi spa are available for members enjoyment.  The Club has number of activity areas which include a card and game room, pool-playing room, meeting and lecture facilities, an exercise room, craft room, a fully equipped wood shop and quiet beautifully appointed lounge area for relaxing or visiting with friends.

The Bay Club belongs to the South Bay Community Association for the use of its membership.  Program and activity direction will be determined by your collective interests and needs.

We invite all of our members and guests to enjoy our lovely facility and take advantage of the many activities and opportunities the Bay Club has to offer.  Your comments and suggestions are welcomed by our staff.

Facility Rental

Bay Club facilities may be rented by members for private functions, member sponsored rentals for private functions, or non-member rentals at the discretion of the Bay Club Management.

Publicity

Publicity for the Bay Club activities and events can be found in the monthly Port Ludlow Voice and events calendar.  Special events will also be posted on the Club’s bulletin board, and flyers may be displayed in the Great Room or throughout the community.

Membership Cards And Guest Passes

Membership cards will be issued for all members and associate members.  You are asked to sign in at the front desk each time you use the facility.  Members guests are always welcome in the Bay Club, but must be accompanied and signed in by the member.  Guests Passes will be issued upon written requests by a member, in instances when the member will be away for one week or longer and friends or family will be staying in the member’s home.  Guests’ conduct while using the facilities remains the responsibility of the sponsoring members.

General Considerations

We ask that when using the Bay Club facilities, consideration be given to the enjoyment of other members and guests.  Appropriate social decorum and common sense should guide your activity.  The following suggestions and rules conform to social standards, and where required, to federal, state and local law.  Should you have any questions regarding these rules please contact the Director.

1.      Pets are not permitted in the Bay Club.

2.        Profane or abusive language, and intoxication will not be tolerated.

3.        Alcoholic beverages are permitted only during scheduled events with an appropriate permit as required by Washington State law.

Age Restrictions

Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by at least one adult while using the facility.  (See pool/spa rules for further details).  Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to use the exercise equipment without the supervision of an adult.  Persons under 18 can not use the wood shop.

Dress Code

The comfort, safety and appropriate social decorum are the prime requisites for the Bay Club dress code.  Please follow these rules using the facility.

1.      Bathing suits are required in aquatic activities.  Cut-offs or other street clothes combinations are not acceptable.

2.        Shoes must be worn at all times except in the pool and spa.

3.        For your safety and comfort, and to prevent damage to equipment, athletic shoes and attire are required when using aquatic facilities.

Swimming Pool

Hot Tub/Spa

Following are some rules and recommendations, which apply to both the pool and spa, designed for the safety and enjoyment of our members and guests.

·        Members and their guests are asked to be sensitive to the enjoyment of others using the pool/spa facility.

·        Water levels in the pool and spa will be maintained at levels best suited for effective water pump operations.

·        Persons with hypertension, heart conditions, or other health concerns, and those persons taking prescribed medications, should consult a physician before undertaking any strenuous physical activity, including use of the swimming pool.  For our member’s greatest comfort, and to remain in compliance with state law, the swimming pool temperature is maintained at between 82 and 84 degrees, and the spa at 102 degrees.  If you have heart or respiratory condition, high water temperature in the spa may cause increased stress.  Please check with your physician.

·        There is no lifeguard on duty.  A life buoy and shepherds crook are readily available poolside for emergencies.

·        Safety rules are posted in the pool area.  Please read and comply with these rules for your safety and enjoyment.

·        Do not swim or use the spa alone.  Persons who have recently eaten or consumed alcoholic beverages should not use the pool or spa.

1.      All users must shower using soap prior to entering the pool or spa facility.

2.      Running is not permitted in the pool/spa area.

3.      Food or beverages are not permitted in the pool/spa area.

4.      No radios or electrical appliances of any type are permitted in the pool/spa area without written permission from the facility Director.

5.      Small floatation devices are permitted in the pool.  Small children may wear inflatable arm devices as a precautionary safety measure but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

6.      Children under 17 years of age must be accompanied by at least one adult member.

7.      Diving is not permitted.  The maximum depth of the pool at its center is four feet.

8.      Infants not yet “potty trained” are required to wear “swim diapers”.  Swim diapers are available at the front desk for a small fee.

Hot Tub/Spa

·        Use of spa is not recommended for children under the age of 12 or pregnant women.  Potentially serious health risks may occur.

·        Spa use for all individuals should be restricted to 15-minute intervals.  Extended use may cause drowsiness, a situation not considered safe in an aquatic facility.

Violations

Judgment and discretion shall be used in all instances where rules have been violated.  The Directors shall have sole responsibility in determining an appropriate penalty.

Violations may result in verbal or written warnings or suspension of Club privileges.

Any member or guest who does not abide by stated, posted or otherwise obvious safety related rules might be asked to leave.  The staff’s judgment with respect to safety, proper decorum and sanitation will prevail in all instances.
