TEAL LAKE VILLAGE

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING March 27, 2006

Board Members present:  Carol Katuzny, Dave Wheeler, Luanna Cooke, Tom Kingston, and Marg Haverstick.

Guest:  Bill Browne, 113 Outlook Lane

It was moved and seconded to approve the February 27, 2006, minutes at the April 24, 2006, meeting.  In the absence of Treasurer, Gary Moore, there was no financial report.

ARC Report:  Marg Haverstick reported that she issued two permits for tree trimming.  Garth Sherman’s permit was approved for re-doing, upgrading and cleaning up a garden area.  A company by the name of  Secret Gardens will be doing the work.  The Yard Dog Tree Company cleaned up after the big wind storm, and also “limbed up” some trees.  The total bill was $300.00.  Soozie Darrow contacted the county concerning our continuing tree issues.  If a tree problem occurs on county property, the county will deal with it.  Two problem trees remain in the Teal Lake Village common area.  Dave Bobanick will handle this problem when he returns.

PLVC Report:  Dave Wheeler reported that the PLVC website has not been up and running lately.  Dave will look into the problem as soon as possible.

SBCA Report:  Bill Browne encouraged everyone in the South Bay area to attend one of  four informational meetings at The Bay Club concerning the expansion of The Club.  The dates of the meetings are:  April l2th at 7pm, April 15th at 10am, April 17th at 4:30pm, and April 21st at 1:00pm.  Bill encouraged us to phone our neighbors to remind them of the meetings.

OLD BUSINESS:  A survey concerning the locked mailboxes will be sent to the homeowners with the next billing statement.  Sixty percent of the homeowners must be in favor of the locked mailboxes for the vote to pass. Carol will pick up the surveys from Linda Cook the first week of May.

It was announced that Bev Browne is always looking for information from the residents of  Teal Lake Village to publish in The Teal Squeal.

Vice President, Dave Wheeler, has researched the garage lighting issue.  Fredericks Electric, in Port Townsend, has custom-made lights available, but needs an order from at least twenty households to offer a price of $88.00 each.  If a resident of Teal Lake Village needs a repair on garage lights, it is possible that Russ Reid would assist.  Seattle Lighting is another possibility for the purchase of garage door lighting fixtures, any changes need to be approved by ARC.  Carol will research light fixtures for similar existing fixtures.

Our discussion turned into concerns about replacing roofs, and what roofing materials would be acceptable.  Shake roofs are a fire hazard.  Eventually, there should be rules and regulations concerning the selection of roofing materials, house colors, front doors, garage doors, and the lighting selections for garage doors and entry doors.

NEW BUSINESS:  Concerning common area landscaping, President, Carol Katuzny, suggested separating the clusters of daffodils from the Sea Breeze Common Area, and relocating them to the entrance to Teal Lake Village, and also some to the Sea Breeze Park garden.  This would be done by volunteers, not Four Seasons.  Master Gardeners, Deana Richards and Carolyn Rawlings will be contacted to help us with our questions.  Another beautification possibility would be to ask neighbors to donate bulbs that they are separating from their gardens.  Carol noticed that there are two Rhodies at the entrance of Teal Lake Village that are not doing well. It was also noticed that the flagpole is leaning to one side due to the force of the wind.

President, Carol Katuzny, will not be at the April 24th meeting of The Teal Lake Village Board, and Dave Wheeler will conduct the meeting.  Dave asked us to think about having our board meetings every other month rather than each month.  The meeting adjourned at 4:45pm.  The next board meeting will be on Monday, April 24th, 2006, at 3:00pm.

Respectfully submitted

Luanna Cooke, Secretary
